I know I can't be the only one who is fed up of the 's**tification' of everyday items, the following reviews are my insights and testing of a selection of brands who fit my criteria of sustainable, green and durable gear. I rate each item on 3 key areas, with a maximum score of 5 stars per category.
Area 1, company sustainability credentials. I look at where the company is based, how they source their products and how they treat their staff.
Area 2, the materials used. I am looking for sustainable natural materials and recycled content.
Area 3, durability score. This is the reason I started this blog, I don't think I have had a pair of socks last more than 5 washes for years. Hence the name of my site. I also seem to wear through shoes almost as quickly as socks, and any other item of clothing you can think of, I will of quickly decimated. When and where possible, I will be tracking my use of each item, how many washes, or how many miles walked in. The latter will be backed up with Garmin watch data, particularly important with walking boots or everyday shoes.

My Focus
My main aim is to highlight brands and pieces that are plastic free, durable and eco friendly. I also appreciate this isn't always the only way and I will feature recycled items from time to time. Ultimately, I believe that nature provides what we require and we should be utilising it, rather than abusing it.
